As a resident of Rocklin, I’ve been personally invested in our community for many years, supporting it through sports groups, church activities and, for the last four years, as a School Board Member for Rocklin Unified.
When I joined the school board in 2020, I brought the perspective of a parent and an educator, with experience teaching elementary school for 25 years. I understand the critical importance of parents and partnership to help every child succeed.
As a Trustee, I have consistently advocated for student-focused academic and curriculum excellence, with parental involvement every step of the way. I have kept a hard focus on traditional expectations with an emphasis on academic growth and building on the accomplishments that has made Rocklin known as one of the best school districts in the area.
During the state-mandated school lockdowns, I knew that our students needed to be back in school as quickly as possible. I joined my colleagues in challenging the state to allow our children to return to school and unmask before most other districts. Once back in the classrooms, we worked tirelessly to ensure that our students, families, and staff had all the support they needed to thrive.
As a Trustee, I will continue to put families first and ensure that our schools operate at the highest levels possible. I will continue to focus on quality curriculum, campus safety, parental involvement, and collaborative employee relationships.
I believe in Rocklin schools. I believe in our families. I am honored to be supported by many civic and business leaders, including Assembly Member Joe Patterson, my school board colleagues Tiffany Saathoff, Dereck Counter and Rachelle Price, and many others
